Repair Program
Will Prince George's County help pay for plumbing repairs?
By All Purpose Anytime Services LLC
It can. The county's two home repair programs, HOPP and HRAP, cover plumbing and water heaters along with roofs, electrical, heating and cooling, and accessibility work. Habitat for Humanity Metro Maryland runs them with the county.
What it pays for
The programs list plumbing and water heaters among the repairs they take on. Roofs, electrical, HVAC and accessibility work are in there too, so a house that needs several things can go in as one request.
How much
The county lists services of up to $30,000, or up to $50,000 for households below 50 percent of area median income. HRAP also offers a 0 percent loan of up to $60,000 with no monthly payment.
How to start
Call Habitat for Humanity Metro Maryland at 301-990-0014, extension 19.
Our part
We aren't part of HOPP or HRAP, and the program decides who does its work. If you are waiting on it, or it won't cover what you need, we can look at the plumbing and give you a written price. A water heater that leaked often leaves the floor or stand under it soft, and we point that out before the new one goes in.
Before you apply
This information was current as of October 2026. The county and Habitat decide who qualifies and how much each household gets.
