Faucet and fixture installation in MD, DC and Northern VA

Send us the model number before the visit and we'll check it against what's in the wall. Then we fit the faucet, sink or shower valve with new shutoffs and run it with the cabinet dry.

Fixture jobs we handle

Often it's a kitchen or bathroom being updated one piece at a time, or a landlord getting a unit ready.

  • A fixture you bought that's waiting to go in
  • A seized shutoff that stopped someone else's job
  • One worn out fixture in a room that's otherwise fine
  • A rough-in that doesn't match what was ordered

What changes the price

  • How many fixtures, and what kind
  • The state of the shutoffs, supply lines and flange
  • Whether the rough-in has to be changed to fit

Where a faucet swap goes wrong

A faucet swap goes wrong when the old shutoff won’t close or the new fixture doesn’t match the rough in. We check both before anything comes out.

Checked against the rough in
Send the model number before the visit. We match it to the holes, the drain position and the supply connections already there.
New shutoffs and supplies
We replace the old shutoff valves and supply lines with the install. A new faucet on a seized valve is a leak waiting to happen.
Dry cabinet test
We dry out the cabinet, run everything, and look underneath again, so a weeping connection shows up while we’re still standing there.

Before you book fixture installation

The faucet you bought will not fit.

Send us the model number before the visit. We check it against the rough in before the old one comes out.

Old shutoffs get reused and fail later.

We replace the shutoffs and the supply lines with the install.

A slow leak starts under the cabinet later.

We dry the cabinet, run the water, and look underneath again before we leave.

The new bathroom gets a mess made of it.

New tile and the vanity top get covered before the old fixture comes out. The boxes and the old parts leave in our truck.

When fixtures get replaced around DC

March is the peak month for new listings in Washington, and a buyer’s inspector will write down a dripping faucet or a seized shutoff. If you’re selling in spring, change them over the winter. See the plumbing problems inspectors flag.

How the job runs

  1. 1We check the new fixture against the rough-in before the old one comes out.
  2. 2The old shutoffs and supply lines get replaced as part of the job.
  3. 3We set the fixture, seal it and hook it up.
  4. 4With the cabinet dried out, we run the water and check underneath, so a new leak shows up right away.

Questions we get about faucet and fixture installation

Can I buy the fixture myself?

⌄
Yes. Send us the model number first and we'll check it against what's in the wall. A fixture that doesn't fit the rough-in is the easiest way to waste a visit.

Is it worth fixing an old plumbing fixture or should I replace it?

⌄
Fix it when the body is sound and parts are still made for it, since a cartridge, a washer or a fill valve is a small repair. Replace it when the body is cracked or corroded, the finish is pitting, or nobody makes the parts anymore. Count the shutoff valves in the decision too. Under an old fixture they are often seized, and they get replaced either way.

New faucet sitting in the box?

Send the model number and a photo of what it’s replacing. We’ll tell you whether it fits, and what else the install needs, before anyone comes out.
