Plumbing work in progress in the DMV

Do you charge to find a leak?

Looking is free. We come out, check the obvious places and price the repair at no cost. If the leak is hidden inside a wall, ceiling or slab, tracing it is a separate job, and you get its price in writing before it starts.

It is worth paying for. A ceiling stain is almost never directly under the leak. Water travels along pipes and framing before it drips, sometimes several feet. Without a proper search, the first hole is often cut in the wrong place, and then the second.

The search works by elimination. A meter test confirms water is moving with everything off. The system is split into sections to find which one is losing water. Moisture readings narrow it further. Only then is one opening made.

You are shown where we think the leak is before anything is cut, and the wall repair afterwards is priced as its own job.

Some leaks announce themselves only at certain times, like a shower pan that seeps only when the shower runs or a drain that weeps only when the tub empties. Telling us when the water appears often shortens the search more than any tool.

Want it looked at?

Write down where the water shows up and when. Then book the free visit and we will tell you if a search is needed.
